Akkord Materia

Akkord Materia is a collaborative project between musicians and visual artists. It is an audiovisual journey from primal sound to harmony, from chaos to order. The work is based on the concept of a “mother chord”—an imaginary primordial sound that connects all notes and from which musical matter is born. The composition incorporates elements of dodecaphony, minimalism, ambient, and techno, creating a layered, rhythmically complex sound world.

Technical description

My idea was to accompany the artist on stage, so I created a “visual feedback” system by capturing the image with a camera, detecting the artist’s movement, and projecting the video back onto the same screen. I also used a reaction–diffusion–like algorithm to generate growing visuals that look like paint flowing from a painting and spreading in all directions. Created in TouchDesigner.
